SCAR TREATMENTS

SCARS

When wounds heal, they often develop into scars. Scars appear in numerous forms and can be caused by all sorts of situations.  Surgery, accidents, self harm, acne, chicken pox, cold sores and sun damage are just some examples of how scars can be caused.

Whatever the cause, scars can leave much more behind than what is visible on the surface.  Whether accidental or surgical, male or female, if you have facial or body scarring that has left you feeling imperfect and affects your self confidence, then my medical scar treatments can help.

SCAR TREATMENTS

SCAR CORRECTION

Scar Correction is a scar treatment that uses MCA (multi trepannic collagen actuation), a revolutionary scar treatment that relaxes scar tissue, smooths stretch marks and brings new life to damaged skin.

The innovative Scar Correction procedure targets the root of scarring by breaking down the elastin fibers. This process not only improves the skin’s texture but also reactivates melanocytes, the cells responsible for your skin’s natural pigmentation. As a result, many of my clients experience the fading of scars, restoring the skin’s natural appearance.

It’s important to understand that attempting camouflage techniques without addressing the underlying scar tissue can lead to temporary and unsatisfactory results.

Unlike these methods, our Scar Correction treatment can comprehensively remove all characteristics of the scar, effectively returning your skin to its natural state and texture.

Scar Correction will prepare the scar/stretch mark for the implantation of pigment and often stimulates enough natural pigmentation that Camouflage is not always necessary.

Typically most types of scars/stretch marks can benefit from MCA scar treatment.  In order to get the best possible results scars should be :

SCAR CAMOUFLAGE

Scar Camouflage Tattooing is a medical grade scar treatment whereby skin coloured pigment is tattooed into scar tissue in order to blend it in with the surrounding healthy tissue.  It is particularly effective on older, flatter scars but can improve the appearance of most scars provided the scar tissue is lighter than the surrounding, healthy tissue.

In cases where melanocytes are irreparably damaged and unable to produce melanin, I offer a specialised cosmetic pigment addition technique. This method carefully introduces pigment that mimics your natural skin tone. My approach ensures that these cosmetic pigments are securely encapsulated by new, healthy skin cells, akin to the permanence of body art tattoos. This results in a seamless and natural-looking skin tone.

In some cases, I like to combine a course of Scar Correction and Scar Camouflage tattooing scar treatments in order to get the best possible results.  Correction can prepare the scar tissue for the implantation of pigment by promoting natural collagen production which smoothes out the damaged tissue prior to Scar Camouflage Tattooing, often giving much better results than Scar Camouflage Tattooing alone.

In order to get the best possible results, scars should be :

face lift scar camouflage
Scar Camouflage on face lift scarring
caesarean section scar camouflage
MCA scar treatment on caesarean section scarring
MCA results from scar treatment on forehead scar
Healed Scar Correcction and Scar Camouflage on self-harm scarring

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Is it safe?

I follow a strict code of practise that ensures a safe treatment.  I use single use, disposable needles and dressings that are disposed of responsibly at the end of your scar treatment.  I choose to use to pigments and inks that are hypoallergenic and meet European medical standards.  These products are also vegan and cruelty free.  An allergy test is always performed at least 48 hours prior to your initial scar treatment.

Does it hurt?

All of my scar treatments are performed with your comfort in mind.  If suitable, numbing agents can be used to minimise discomfort.  Most patients report only mild discomfort.

How much does it cost?

Scar Treatment varies greatly from patient to patient.  Please see Prices & Access below.

How long must I wait before I can start treatment?

The recommended minimum wait time for either scar treatment is 6 months.  Scars must be lighter in colour than the surrounding tissue for Scar Camouflage Tattooing, this can sometimes take 12 months or more.  It’s important to ensure that the area to be treated is in the best possible condition to receive the camouflaging scar treatments.

How long do the treatments take?

This depends entirely on the type of scar and the size of the area to be treated.  Most sessions are between 1-2 hours.

What types of scars can be treated?

Typically, most scars can be treated with these methods.  The only types of scarring that may need a different kind of scar treatment are keloid scars and those that suffer with hyperpigmentation (darkening of wounded tissue).
