LIGHTENING & REMOVAL SERVICES Aftercare
Lightening and/or removing unwanted pigment is a process and patience is required. This is true whether you are choosing a salt saline lightening product service like LiFT, MM chemical removal or laser.
Please be patient and give the process time to work. Expect visible results in 2 to 5 sessions.
How many sessions needed will depend on how saturated the pigment is, how deep it was implanted and how much needs to be removed for the desired result.
In many cases only a percentage of the pigment needs to be lightened/removed and then we can continue the correction process by colour correcting covering the old work. In cases where there is migration or poor placement, colour correction will not likely be an option and removing as much of the pigment as possible will be our ultimate goal. Results cannot be foreseen, predicted or guaranteed.
Emergency removal can be performed within 48 hours of an unwanted result. Once 48 hours has passed you will need to wait at least 8 weeks before any other removal techniques can be attempted.
LiFT SALINE & MM CHEMICAL REMOVAL AFTERCARE
Follow the instructions below for 1-2 weeks, unless otherwise stated
- Keep the area clean by blotting the area using a cotton pad and the solution provided, twice per day (am/pm) for 1- 2 weeks
- Do not allow the are to get wet during healing. Especially during the first 24 hours
- If the area does get wet during the first 24 hours, dry immediately
- A brownish crust will form during the healing period, this is completely normal
- Allow the crust to form and flake away by itself
- Do not pick peel scratch or rub the area during healing under any circumstances – approximately 2 weeks. Picking will cause scarring
- After 2 weeks you may use the provided aftercare product to help the new skin heal. Do not use the balm provided until the crust has completely flaked away
- Once the crust has shed, protect the skin from direct sunlight using SPF30+/sunglasses/clothing for up to 12 weeks
- Allow 8 weeks in between future session/further treatment
- No exercise, running or sweating
- No gym, swimming pools, hot tubs, steam rooms or saunas
- Do not apply makeup/moisturiser/body lotion/fake tan on or near the area
- No beauty treatments including facials/massage
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION FOR EYEBROWS
- No eyebrow tinting, waxing, electrolysis or laser hair removal treatments for 4 weeks
- No eyebrow tinting, lamination or eyebrow extensions for 4 weeks
- No eyebrow serums for at least 12 weeks after the final treatment
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION FOR EYELINER
- New mascara should be used after the 2 week period
- Wear sunglasses when outside
- No contact lenses for 2 weeks
- No eyelash tinting, perming, lifting or eyelash extensions including strip lashes for 4 weeks
- No eyelash serums for at least 12 weeks after the final treatment
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION FOR LIPS
- Take care when drinking, eating or brushing your teeth
- Smiling may cause the crust to crack and bleed, take care with facial expressions
- If you suffer with oral herpes (cold sores). On the day of the outbreak, it’s recommended to use Acyclovir or Valtrex cream
- Avoid kissing as this can cause infection
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION FOR BODY TATTOOS
After 72 hours, you can take a short shower (no more than 2 minutes) but do not place the treated areas directly under the stream of the shower
Do not scrub with a washcloth or use any soap on the treated area. Ensure you keep the treated area as dry as possible while it heals and use a clean, dry towel to gently blot the water off the area and allow the skin to dry. A dark crust will form on treated area of skin, which will naturally shed in 2-3 weeks
The crust may crack at the edges during the healing process or due to stretching of the skin with movement. Use a loose, dry, breathable bandage (made of gauze or bandage). Wear clothing that will not chafe until the crust comes off
LASER PERMANENT MAKEUP/TATTOO REMOVAL AFTERCARE
Follow the instructions below for 1-2 weeks, unless otherwise stated
- Keep the area clean and dry during the healing period
- Use the aloe vera ointment and cool compresses to reduce inflammation and discomfort
- If blistering occurs, don’t be alarmed, this is completely normal
- Allow blisters to diminish on their own. Protect the area and use the provided balm once the blisters have popped
- A brownish crust will form during the healing period, this is completely normal
- If a crust forms, allow this to flake away by itself
- Do not pick peel scratch or rub the area during healing under any circumstances – approximately 2 weeks. Picking will cause scarring
- Do not shave or exfoliate the area or do anything that could cause removal of the crust
- You may shower 2 hours after treatment, however avoid high pressure water on the area
- Exercise is permitted after 48 hours, provided all other aftercare is followed
- No swimming pools, hot tubs, steam rooms or saunas
- Do not apply makeup/moisturiser/body lotion on or near the area
- No beauty treatments including facials or massages
- Protect the skin from direct sunlight using SPF30+/sunglasses/clothing for up to 12 weeks
- Allow 8 weeks in between future session/further treatment

THINGS TO REMEMBER:
- Healing can be prolonged if your immune system is compromised, if you are generally stressed and by poor diet. Please let me know if you are ill for more than a few days during the healing period so I can allow more time between your initial procedure and your follow up/next treatment.
- With eyeliner removal, the loss of some eyelashes during the healing process is a possibility. Lost eyelashes will normally grow back within a 4 month period.
- If you suffer with cold sores at present or anytime in the past use an anti herpes medication for example Zovirax, 5 times daily for a period of 1 week. If an outbreak does occur it will generally begin on day 3 of the healing process.

If anyone is thinking about having their eyebrows tattooed and feeling nervous about having this done, yet all the time hating your thinning eyebrows, (like I was) then don’t be worried at all and go for it, Sara is lovely and spends the time to get the perfect shape and I honestly love my eyebrows now and am complemented on them all the time. Where do I start. I held out for a while getting my eyebrows microbladed and really did my research because I wanted someone I could trust, and someone I knew who would do an amazing job and Sara didn’t disappoint. In fact, she exceeded my expectations. Sara made me feel so safe and welcome. To start with, all the safety provisions put in place post Covid are very professional and very thorough and at no point did I feel at risk. But the eyebrows.. I cannot thank Sara enough for the absolutely beautiful brows she has given me. She was so careful and really listened to what I wanted but also offered her professional advice and the results. She’s a lovely lady and the whole experience was such a positive one, i highly recommend her to get your permanent make up done!!

To say I was nervous, would be a huge understatement. I remember driving to the salon, thinking I am going to turn around and go home, stuff the upfront monies. Well, I walked in and the salon reception was a large bright airy room, very inviting with large black sofas. This lady, who I later realised was Sara looked up, with a bright smile (instantly putting me at ease). Sara was professional, acknowledged my apprehension and reassured me. Spent ages ensuring I was happy with the shape. Explained what she was doing. She washed her hands and used a sterile dressing pack. This lady knows her stuff. The only thing left to say; I LOVE MY BROWS! They are super natural looking. Sorry for the long review; which BTW I NEVER leave reviews, ever! But, credit where credit is due. Had my brows done yesterday, was scared stiff of the pain I expected to go through. Sara took her time to go through the process & preparation, the carried out the microblading. The numbing cream did its job it felt like being drawn on with a biro. Not painful, only a bit uncomfortable towards the end. The result however are fantastic, my brows look ‘on fleek’…so very very pleased & am telling everyone I meet who is checking out my brows.. X

Sara is absolutely amazing! She is a true professional and works utter magic. My eyebrows were so fair and sparse that it looked as though I didn’t have any. I was fed up with pencilling them on daily, and so decided to have them tattooed on but I was incredibly nervous about having them done in case they went wrong or the result didn’t suit me. Sara, however, put me at ease instantly, and I knew I was in good hands. The results were amazing and 2 years on, I’m still thrilled with how they look. I highly recommend her, her work is amazing!

Im not on Facebook, however I really felt I needed to review this lady coz she’s so good at what she does…..so I’ve borrowed my mums page to rate her! I was concerned about getting my eyebrows tattooed for so long as I just felt it’s on your face & if I didn’t like it then it’s too l8! However after meeting with Sarah initially she instantly put me at ease & the reason for that is her confidence & knowledge. Sarah drew them in first & measured them out precisely, just from that I knew I’d like them once completed. I’m also a bit of a wimp when it comes to needles, however I can honestly say when Sarah first started it just felt like she was drawing them on! I couldn’t believe how painfree it was (due to the anaesthetic), the anaesthetic obviously wears off during the process & when it starts to get a little uncomfortable Sarah reapplied the anaesthetic & started again. On completion I felt as though my face was transformed (for the better!), they look brilliant. The reason I wanted them done is I needed a little reconstructive work due to uneven eyebrows, I opted for combination brow. Great value, great end result, Sarah is lovely & I couldn’t recommend her more!!!! I’ve had so many compliments. Thanks Sarah I’m so happy
